Third Shift To Be Added at Fort Wayne Assembly
Today GM announced it is adding third shifts at three assembly plants that have received allocation of new products. I am happy to inform you that Fort Wayne Assembly is one of those plants.
For us, third shift begins in April, 2010. This has the potential of adding approximately 700 additional employees to our facility. Manpower increases at these three plants will be in accordance with the UAW/GM National Agreement. Details are still being finalized and will be available at a later date. This is GREAT NEWS for Fort Wayne Assembly and a testament to our abilities to Safely building the highest Quality vehicles at the lowest Cost! The other two facilities adding third shifts are:
* Fairfax which builds the all-new Buick LaCrosse, Saturn Aura and Chevy Mailbu * Lansing Delta Township which builds the Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook. These actions are another step to get more cars and trucks to market and enable GM to increase its manufacturing plant utilization in the U.S.
Thank you for your continued commitment and teamwork!!
